"Through outreach efforts I have been able to engage with the surrounding community to a higher degree in local schools, the university, and various forums -- which is simply fantastic because I'm a proponent of environmental literacy. I used to fancy myself as a stream keeper when I was about six, so it’s kind of funny how I’m still enthused about watersheds and water cycles 14 years later."
