Participating in the Solar Decathlon is an experience unlike anything seen in a lab, studio, research, or lecture. Such practical application of theoretical concepts is irreplaceable for undergraduates and graduate students alike. Interacting with people from different academic backgrounds has enhanced our understanding of what a "team effort" truly means. From conceptualization to design, from construction to realization, the process has attracted students of all ages and faculties, showing that sustainable design with renewable resources is a communal concern. With students, graduate mentors, and faculty from all over campus, these are some of the school, colleges, departments we represent:
- College of Agriculture and Natural Resources
- School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation
- College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences
- A. James Clark School of Engineering
- University of Maryland Libraries
- National Center for Smart Growth Research and Education
- Center for the Use of Sustainable Practices
