The National Renewable Energy LaboratoryWith a home base in Golden, Colorado, The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is the premier American laboratory for research and development on renewable energy and energy efficiency. Along with a host of other research and development efforts, NREL notably applies Congressional grants towards the research and development of photovoltaic technology, wind energy, and biofuels. As the research and development arm of the U.S. Department of Energy, NREL’s goals are to further the DOE’s energy initiatives and help the United States achieve its energy goals.
